The Olight Ostation 2 turns rechargeable battery care into a simple drop-in routine. This standard model combines a charger, battery tester and organiser in one compact station for AA and AAA cells, helping busy South African homes, offices, schools and workshops keep frequently used batteries charged, checked and sorted.

Load AA and AAA batteries into their dedicated input paths without aligning positive and negative ends. The Ostation 2 identifies compatible rechargeable cells, assesses their condition and routes them through the appropriate charging process. Healthy charged batteries move into organised storage, while incompatible or unhealthy cells are separated from ready-to-use batteries.

Charge, test and organise in one station

Two storage compartments hold up to 12 AA and 12 AAA rechargeable batteries. A separate invalid-battery compartment can hold up to four AA or six AAA cells, reducing the chance of accidentally returning a failed battery to a remote control, camera, toy, security device or other everyday appliance.

The AA and AAA paths use separate charging circuits, allowing both sizes to be processed at the same time. Official Olight guidance states that two AA and two AAA batteries can be fully recharged in approximately 2 to 2.5 hours under suitable conditions. Actual charging time depends on battery type, condition, capacity and temperature.

Compatible rechargeable battery types

The Ostation 2 supports major brands of rechargeable AA and AAA Ni-MH batteries. It also supports Olight Ecolast 1.5V AA rechargeable Li-ion batteries. Other brands of 1.5V AA Li-ion cells are not listed as compatible by Olight, so do not assume that any physically similar battery is suitable.

Thermo-adaptive charging and five-layer protection

Olight’s thermo-adaptive system adjusts charging current in response to battery temperature, charging more quickly when conditions are cooler and slowing when cells become warm. The five-layer protection system is designed to monitor overheating, overcurrent, overvoltage, overcharging and short circuits.

These safeguards support correct use; they do not replace battery inspection. Do not load leaking, swollen, corroded, damaged or non-rechargeable cells. Keep contacts clean and dry, provide ventilation around the station and follow the supplied manual. Batteries identified as unhealthy should be removed and sent to an appropriate battery-recycling point rather than placed in household waste.

Battery information in the Olight app

The standard Ostation 2 provides status indicators on the unit and supports monitoring through the Olight app. For compatible Olight Ecolast smart Li-ion batteries, the system can provide additional per-cell information such as identity, cycle count and health percentage. Information available for ordinary Ni-MH cells is more limited.

Standard versus Pro: this product is the standard black Ostation 2. It does not include the Pro model’s built-in 2.8-inch touchscreen or dual MCC magnetic charging ports. Customers who need those Pro-only features should choose the distinct Ostation 2 Pro rather than treating the two models as colour options.
