Olight O’Pen 3: Four Useful Light Sources in One EDC Pen

The Olight O’Pen 3 combines a smooth everyday writing pen with four genuinely useful light sources in a slim aluminium body. A white clip light handles general illumination, a red clip light provides a lower-glare option, a soft ring light surrounds the writing tip, and a green laser pointer gives you a precise reference during presentations. Choose Black, OD Green, Orange or Red from the colour selector; every colour has the same controls, performance and included accessories.

At approximately 156 mm long, 12.7 mm in diameter and only 33.5 g, it remains comfortable in a pocket, notebook loop or organiser. The shaped aluminium body and textured grip help it feel secure while writing, and the spring clip keeps it accessible. It is a practical companion for offices, workshops, inspections, travel and daily carry when an ordinary pen cannot provide the visibility you need.

White, red, ring and laser functions

The white clip light reaches 120 lumens and a beam distance of 14 metres. On its highest setting it steps from 120 to 60 lumens, running for about 14 minutes plus another 25 minutes. Medium supplies 60 lumens for up to 60 minutes, low provides 20 lumens for up to 2 hours 20 minutes, and the 2 lumen moonlight mode runs for up to 26 hours. These levels cover quick inspections, close-range work and discreet reading without requiring a separate torch.

The red clip light offers 10 lumens for up to 1 hour 20 minutes or 5 lumens for up to 2 hours 10 minutes, together with an SOS mode. Around the pen tip, a 0.4 lumen ring light can run for up to 26 hours and illuminates the immediate writing area without flooding the whole room. The separate green laser pointer is intended for pointing and presentation tasks.

Laser requirements can vary by market, and the specific South African laser class, power and runtime have not been verified. Follow the manual supplied with the product. Never look into the beam or aim it at eyes, people, animals, vehicles or aircraft, and keep the pen away from children.

Concealed USB-C charging

A built-in 3.7 V 130 mAh lithium-polymer battery powers the light functions. Unscrew the upper section to reveal the concealed USB-C port, connect the supplied cable and allow approximately one hour for a full charge. Hiding the port keeps the profile clean and reduces the chance of it catching while carried. The battery is not user replaceable. If the pen becomes wet, allow it to dry completely before charging, and store it in a cool, dry place.

Writing and refill care

Use the bolt-action control to extend and retract the writing tip. Avoid forcing the spring clip over unusually thick material, as this can deform it. Keep the tip area clean so the ring light can illuminate the paper properly. When the ink is depleted, follow the supplied instructions to remove and replace the refill, using a compatible Olight replacement refill so that the mechanism fits and operates correctly. Do not disassemble the light or battery components.

For everyday use, select only the light source and brightness needed for the task to conserve battery power.
