The Olight Osight XE AMRS is a compact enclosed-emitter pistol optic created for shooters who want dependable protection, adaptable aiming options and simple battery maintenance. Its sealed housing shields the emitter from rain, dust and everyday debris, helping the red reticle remain visible when an open optic could become obstructed. For South African sport shooting, training, home defence and professional applications, this design offers a practical balance of durability, clarity and fast target acquisition.

The optic mounts through the widely used Ruggedized Miniature Reflex (RMR) footprint. Its CNC-machined 7075-T6 aluminium housing keeps the unit compact while providing duty-ready strength. A large 23 × 18 mm viewing window, aspherical lens and anti-reflective multi-coatings provide a clear, distortion-free sight picture with unlimited eye relief and parallax-free performance.

Five adaptable red reticle modes

The Advanced Multi-Reticle System gives the Olight Osight XE AMRS five selectable configurations in one optic. Choose a fine 2 MOA dot for precise aiming, a larger 6 MOA dot for rapid close-range pickup, either dot combined with a 32 MOA circle, or the 32 MOA circle by itself. This flexibility lets new and experienced shooters choose the sight picture that best suits a training session, competition stage or defensive setup without changing optics.

Ten brightness levels include eight daylight settings and two night-vision settings. The memory function returns to the most recently selected brightness level, while motion activation wakes the optic when movement is detected. It powers down after approximately three minutes without movement to conserve energy.

Side-loading battery and dependable runtime

A CR1632 battery loads from the side, allowing replacement without removing the optic from the slide. This helps preserve the mounted position and avoids an unnecessary re-zero caused by taking the sight off solely to change the battery. Runtime reaches up to 105,000 hours at brightness level 3 when using the 2 MOA dot alone. A low-power warning makes the reticle flash three times once per minute when battery voltage drops below 2.2 V, giving the user a clear indication that replacement is due.

Integrated backup sight

The Collapsible Backup Rear Sight is built into the optic body. Pressing its release raises a mechanical rear sight that can provide a secondary aiming reference with a compatible front sight if the electronic reticle is switched off. When it is not required, the sight folds down to keep the optic profile clean and compact.

Fit and installation

Confirm that the pistol slide or adapter plate is designed for the RMR footprint before installation. Apply non-permanent medium-strength blue threadlocker to the appropriate included screws and tighten each mounting screw to the official suggested torque of 15–17 in-lb. If an adapter plate is needed, follow its manufacturer’s fitting instructions. After installation, zero the optic and confirm secure mounting with the ammunition and setup you intend to use.
